Today I brought my boys an hour away to stay at my moms. My hubby has a mens conference at our church so it's a prime time to steal away with my fam. I have forgotten at times what a blessing my family is to me. And that is not something I say lightly. Days turn to months and then they are gone and I haven't given the ones I love enough of them.
It's definetly not that I don't want to, it's just..ya know life is crazy. I can see how it is going to become the calm before the storm. I'm waiting until we travel now and so I'm mental thinking of getting all of my running done before we bring the girls back. I'm imagining being at home not wanting to pressure them into going, travelling, or unusual situations. I want to be healthy about it but I'm almost feeling like we need to go back to new infant mode. I want to deep clean, have stock piles of groceries, frozen meals prepared and extra's of everything just in case we can't get out.
Anyhow, today while my mom went to work, I took the boys to my grandma's apartment. They love going there. It's almost like they don't want me around when they are at grandma's and great-grandma's..I'm ruining the fun!! But I took them out to dinner and then we stopped Berean Bookstore. Did you know this Christian bookstore is going out of business after 63 years? So guess what my grandma wanted to do..she wanted to get the girls their first Bible. I was honored. She insisted and signed the inside for them. Everyone really seems to love our girls. God has done this!!
Maria-If you are reading this...today I feel like you are family! Maria and her husband recently travelled to HH to get their children. They took photos of all the kids there so their children can remember them. She sent me about 10 NEW PHOTOS of our girls. Swinging on swings, standing with friends, blowing up balloons. Just the sight of them pushing our girls and telling me more about them...WOW!! Thank you beyond words.
I love this adoption process and am chalking it up to a top life moment!!

How exciting for your family. My husband and I just returned a month ago from HH where we brought home our 1 one year old. Were your daughters there at that time? If so we might have seen them as well. Good luck with your adoption.
How great that you got pics of the girls...so exciting...kj
Hi Amber!
I think you're right to go into "new infant mode" when you bring the girls home. The interesting thing is that they'll know very little of your house and how it runs, and that can be over stimulating - and you'll have to take the time to help them get accustomed to you and your systems! We play a lot of board games, specifically, Trouble! I thought we'd do a new game each day, but they really like this one.... it's now providing them with a schedule, which they need so much! HH is great but the kids seem to go from activity to activity at will - nothing to structured other than meals, and bed routines....
