Urge to Blog

Apparently I must have no life because it seems lately this blog has been on my mind. I could be outside and have a thought strike me and think, "I should blog about that". Or I have been deep cleaning the house and come across unfinished projects and think, "I should blog about that(with before and after photos)". Talking about the beginning of our summer or what we made for dinner are great topics for blogs. Plans for summer trips or fun and unusual things we have done so far are also great things to tell about. I have so much tell. Even though my blog is dust laden, our lives, I promise, are not. Let's do a quick run through of what we have accomplished so far..haha..:

*friends sleeping over
*swimming pool swims
*homemade ice cream
*time with grandparents
*making things out of wood
*seeing my kids play and fight together all day long
*lazy days
*staying at home
*still not understanding that they..and I can sleep in
*having some awesome dreams of God from God
*water fights
*drawing with sidewalk chalk

*making mudslides in the back yard
*making movies for the war veterans
*being entrepreneurs and building lemonade stands

*watching old home movies
*organizing our bedrooms and closets
*going through their old school journals and reading them
*missing daddy since I stay home with them thru the day
*going to his work with him and earning some money for sweeping floors there
*oh, and the baby of the family loosing her TWO bottom teeth!

All of this and it's not even June 1st! It's going to be a fun packed summer as a family of 7!

Mother of Five on Mother's Day.

*wild flowers picked from our property just for me!*

It took my wonderful husband to remind me that this is my first mother's day as a mom of 5. I don't know why but I hadn't even thought about it. I have a hard time taking and accepting things given to me. It's not that I don't like it, or sometimes feel like I deserve it, I have NEVER been good at taking nice gestures given to me. So with that being said, I think I enjoyed the day..haha..my kids make it all worth while.

Sunday started off with a heated debate about my husbands goofy looking mustache that I LOATHE. Why or how can facial hair light such a fury inside me? You think it's funny and trust me if you would have seen this you would have laughed. He hadn't shaved in 2 weeks and looked like Nacho Libre or The Pink Panther
mixed. Ridiculous. I finally won that fight and it was shaved for the evening service. You have to know my onry husband to understand this moment.
The afternoon I fixed a home cooked meal. On mother's day?! Yes, on mother's day. I did this for easter too. Just for my family. I love to get to set the table and have us all sit over some home cooked goodness. Plus, the Dave Ramsey bug has bit me hard. I bought and read his book 2 years ago but with the adoption and building a new home, it was out the window. Now I feel like I can focus on the our payments and pay down the debt. I'm so excited about this I don't want to go out to eat! That's saying something.
The kids each hand made me something and that is all I could ever want.
So after shaving a "stash", eating at home, and handcrafted gifts...I am one thankful woman!
Here's some photos from Easter I've been wanting to share:
