convict..

I looked this word up today. Other than meaning a person being proven guilt it means to impress with a sense of guilt. The idea of convictions in our church body has been a hot topic for a while now. But it's been an undercurrent not necessarily talked about from the pulpit. What I feel as though God has impressed on me, they don't change. Why am I talking about this? I have no idea. I just know that right now I feel God heavy on my life and my heart. I want to please Him. I want to do what He wants me to. I pray for Him to be please when He looks at my insides and my outs. If I make it through this vapor of a life and have used the majority of my life leaving God with a smile on His face I will rejoice.
Convictions...mine are mine. Some may scoff but if He is smiling that is all I care about. Let them.
God, I love you. I want to be your servant and please you my King.
Give me a servants heart. An obedient displacement. A humble posture. Ever thankful for using a wretch like me, Amber Wehrle

Snow Day.

Ganna..or Merry Christmas in Ethiopia today! What do they do for Ganna? Yesterday, Jan 6th they fast. Then on Ganna they dress in white shama's and walk to church all day. The first mass service is at 4 a.m. They walk around the church 3 times and light a candle. They are very celebratory of Jesus. In a few weeks they celebrate when Jesus was baptized. How humbling. What a great tradition. They don't give any presents, they just spend time with family and eat and play games.

So today we have a snow day on Ganna. If I was a super mom I would have a traditional Ethiopian dinner prepared..but I don't and I feel quite bad about it. Jersey talks about this Himbasha bread that was so good. Sometimes my girls crack me up how much spices they love in their food. They love it hot and spicy!

We have been singing and dancing to worship music all day in our house. And on occasion going out into the snow to play. Hoping for daddy to bring a snow mobile home tonight. Wanted to post some pictures of the girls and their mom and grandma..oh they love them so much.
