I have been spoken 3 different words in my heart and to be honest I don't fully understand their meaning yet. I love to go to Webster's dictionary and find out the textual meaning and then read into them and then plow them into our daily lives.

My thoughts with this as we are preparing for the fall for our family I want to be relational at all times. I want to be available to be relational with my husband and each one of my kids one on one.
I want to be intentional. With my time, with my resources, with my words and thoughts and responses. I want to make sure what I take to time to do or think or speak is with intention and with a full purpose.
Through all of my minutes on my clock of life I want to be gentle in what I say and do with my relations and intentions. May I be gentle when I feel like being strong when it's not so easy to do so.

Vacation 2010

After 10 days, 3000 driving miles, 6 states and so many memories we are finally home. If you know me, home is my favorite place to be. Our trip was excellent and we were so excited to get started and I have to admit I didn't get all that homesick! After loading up the van we headed out about 6 a.m. to drive for many hours to my sil in NC. We got there late that night (the traffic there is nuts!) and unloaded, took baths and went to bed. We stayed there for 3 days and on Sunday went to their church they just took pastoral leadership over. A great spirit there!

Our kids had church of their own on Saturday night.

After church it was time to go on the road again. Savannah, Ga here we come. Only for a night though, Embassy Suites are very nice, then back up and on the road again. Destination: Orlando. My husband had business there so that is why we went. We stayed at the Gaylord Palms for 3 days. They have a very kid friendly pool there. I don't know why more hotels don't do that. They also had a very nice putt-putt course. Highly recommended hotel stay. The second night we went to downtown Disney for my nephews birthday dinner.
We ate at a Prehistoric restaurant in the ice room. If you don't know, Disney is all about what ever you want. Jersey's dinner came late so when the waitress asked if there is anything else you want, Jerusa said she was still hungry. They brought another chicken dinner out for free! Oh Boy! haha
After dinner it was back to the heat of the outside. Too hot to go to any parks. Have you ever been to Disney in July? Don't! The asphalt burns your feet off. But we had to hit the Lego store, this was my boys mandatory request(kinda an oxymoron huh). Easy enough! They spent all their dough here.

After this hotel we went to Innisbrook Resort for a few days so the golfing and relaxing could get done.
Us girls also went and had a pedicure! A first for my girls and my niece. It was wonderful! I could get used to that.

Then it was time to say our goodbyes. My sil and her family(which also has 5 kids btw) had to get back home. We went to Tampa for a night to enjoy a Yankee game. Or so we thought until we looked on stubhub and saw that they were all sold out!! This can't be. We have been there several times and there is never anyone there. So now, we have to try to scalp 7 tickets! We got dressed, parked and said a prayer. After over an hour of trying my husband and the boys tromp up to the ticket booth. The lady says "I'm sorry, we are sold out". The lady next to her says "Wait a minute, 7 tickets just came available". SOLD! In we go and we had a great time. The crowd was so amped and the extras there were great for the kids. They have several batting stations, a painted field to play on, places to by a personalized bat, jersey, get a baseball card made of you and it's all air conditioned. This was a highlight of our trip.

More Summer Love..

Swimming in Jersey's birthday present of a pool. This thing has been worth the money.


Playing with clay. This stuff isn't as easy to mold as play-doh..they are finding that out.



Oldests birthday, of which, he is getting too big I might add. All he wanted this year was jeans and money. He's eleven people..that's just not right! He tried to trick the cake lady and ask for a triangle cake and triangle cookies (since he had never seen one). She delivered. We celebrated on Father's Day and had the whole family here at our house for that Sunday. It was a great time!



Being in the 4th of July Parade for my husband motorsports business. Yes, it was hot. Yes, the kids needed water to drink. Yes, Jerusa is crying in one of these.


UFC fight night in which we had about five other families here and we grilled out and pigged out!

Popping a tent in the front yard and making smore's late at night 'cause we have the whole day tomorrow to sleep and ride four wheeler's all day. Also playing in it with their Grandma Annie and Aunt Cakie!

Enjoying and loving this summertime. Praying it could slow down just a bit.

One Year Together...Let's Make Art!

I have a friend Nicki who blogs about being a stay at home mom. Her recent post about purging and finishing house projects that were long over do pushed me over the edge to join that train. I/We have more than our share of things to be done around here and this blog just might give me the motivation I need to get 'er done:)..
Not too mention, it has been over a year for our family to be a whole, why not make some art to celebrate.
As you may or may not know we just built a new home a year ago in March. In this glorious dream house of ours, I had an art nook built in the wall by our entry. It is lined with wood planks of siding that we had left from the outside of our house. There is a small pot light above to highlight this ultimate masterpiece. I bought a large, rectangle canvas to fit this spot and have had it leaned up inside of it waiting for the right time to strike me to do this. After a few months of being untouched I got out my acrylics and brushes and sat them by the canvas thinking that would get it done..it didn't


With it now being July and my kids are missing art from school they urged me to do it. Yesterday morning I said, "Let's do it!" I didn't do any prepping to the canvas but I did do some tea stained drips to the background.


Then I laid it on the floor(yes, outside would have been best but when the creative mood strikes, my mind makes no room for order or prep really) and sat the kids around it. I sketched out what I had thought of doing, each kid painting their flower and I would paint the vase..

I had them close their eyes and envision the shape of their bloom. I said, "ok now pick some colors and color it in" "Seal it in your mind..got it? ok let's paint it" They picked their main color and went to work in their area. After a while I could tell that what I had thought wasn't going to work. Jersey's flower was very low and the vase would have covered it up. So we made the brown be the dirt and the flowers coming up from that. It turned out better than I could have dreamed.


I did have each one tell me how to outline their bloom and how to give it detail. I did that with black ink in a dropper. It's wonderful! Beautiful! Priceless! I have been going to gaze at it multiple times a day! It's so wonderful. Thank you God for my many blessings. You are better to me than I am to myself.
