Last night my hubby and I discussed me going with a friend to Ethiopia for a few weeks, maybe even a month. It started out as a trip for him. Right now we are able to be more free with our lives than we ever have. So, if money wasn't much of an issue and time wasn't much of an issue, and your responsibilities could be covered by others what would you do?
I want to serve.
I want to go to that country and see the people. Love them, help them, care for them, do for them. I can't imagine what that would feel like. Just to be Jesus to this world. YES! I want that.
So, my husband says to me, " why don't you go". I said, "what about the kids?" "I'll do it".
I'm thinking about it...it seems very crazy. Maybe one of the most crazy things I have ever done. But a part of me wants to. A part of me has some unanswered questions. We shall see.
ps-no word yet on the waiting list girls. we did email julie letting her know we were interested.

What a wonderful hubby!!
Since both you of have the spirit of ministry go for it!
Wow.. a month..
I've been doing a bible study with some girls called Chasing the Lion, based on a book by Mark Batterson (In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day). One of the points of the book is that our biggest regrets are not what we've done in our lives, but what we DIDN'T do in our lives. What you are thinking about doing is amazing, and it totally goes along with stuff the book talks about, so if you need encouragment or one more boost to get going, I highly recommend you read the book!!
I'm glad I found your blog. Looks like we're in about the same stage of the process with AGCI. I look forward to following your journey. As for the trip, what an opportunity! Go for it!
I love your blog! It is nice to meet you too!
Go to Ethiopia for a visit, and to serve the beautiful people before you go for the quick pick up trip!?!
