Christmas is Family Fun Time

This Christmas was a beautiful. A run through of some of my favorite parts were times such as when Jersey and I were sitting on the couch watching a movie the Friday before Christmas. I said, "Jersey, did you have Christmas in Ethiopia. She said, "ya". I asked if they had a tree. "No tree, my friend have a tree". "Oh, did you get a present?" She tucks her head and says, "it's funny mom, it's funny." I said what is funny? She rolls her hands around in a ball like she is unwrapping a present. "Me get banana" she said.

For Christmas Jersey wanted a new dress(and we knew she really wanted the Icarly microphone). Jerusa wanted a toy horse. That Sunday at church someone asked Jersey what she wants for Christmas. "A new dress", she replied. I said, well she really wants a new microphone. I was holding her and she grabbed my face and looked at me and said, "no mom, microphone big money, me one dress please". Ahh..precious. So the whole Christmas they believed they were going to get one present. We never told them any different and just let them experience each day of giving and getting.

Under the tree on Christmas morning Santa left some presents. We laid in bed listening to the response of the kids and we pretended to be asleep so they would wake us up. Our oldest son got a little 22 shotgun and it was left unwrapped under the tree. Jersey said, "oh, Santa forgot his gun!" haha.. The girls do believe Santa is real. Jerusa wants to know if I'm his mom!

Too cute! I bet it was your best Christmas ever! I know mine was! We got the card you sent:) Now I need to mail you one. Sorry it'll be so late.. Are you going to do anything in January since that's when Ethiopia celebrates Christmas? I think we're going to have a Ethiopian dinner that day:)

Thanks for the beautiful card - my kiddos noticed 2 things: Jack noticed the girls picture with their mom in the back ground.... maybe...
and Selam noticed that your girls like to kiss on the lips! She is forever asking people if they like to kiss on the lips... I think she must have been taught not to...and she is amazed when she sees people doing it...

Selam also received a kitchen set for Christmas... what fun for these girls!
